When is the Best Time to Move?

Often, moving is predicated by a life event such as a job change, upsizing or downsizing, family needs, or just wanting a change of scenery.  When the move has to take place within a particular time frame, securing moving services is at the top of the to-do list. This is especially important during the summer, which is peak season in the moving industry.  Therefore, as soon as you have moving dates, contact your moving company to schedule your move.

However, if you have flexibility in moving dates, or are considering a move in the future and wondering what the advantages are for moving during a particular season, the following comparison will give you some food for thought. Peak season generally runs from May through September.  Depending on if your move is local or long distance, and what area of the country you are in, some of the factors may be less applicable to your moving situation.
